The decision follows meetings of a special acupunc- ture committee, Mr. Cocke told the legislature, and hinges on whether the government will get the co-operation of local acupuncturists. He said the plan would call for a few acupuncture clinics to be set up and a watch be kept on patients referred to the clinics by qualified doctors. Acupuncture is a method of relieving pain and treating cer- tain ailments by inserting need- les into the body at specified points.
