CORNELL AP Religion Writer NEW YORK (AP) - Demonstrations . . . resolutions ... drama . . . meetings letters to editors and bisliops . . . Tiiese are among the reactions crackling in American religious circles over the United States government's conspiracy charges against six persons, including three Roman Catholic priests An ex-priest and a nun. "Modern prophets," say some. But others declaim them as tools for "terrorist activity." Much of the furore has centred on the brother priests, B�v. Phil and Rev. "They are a strange mixture of exhibitionism and anti-Americanism," a priest-columnist, Rev. Daniel Lyons, who supports the Vietnam war, writes of the Berrigans. But a Presbyterian theologian and war critic. Rev. Robert McAfee Brown, voices confidence in their innocence and says: "If the Berrigans ara 'guilty,' so are we." They themselves have called the charges a "fabrication by the government." SUPPORT ACCUSED Most of the reaction in church groups and publications has been sympathetic to the accused group, and skeptical of charges they planned to blow up heating systems in Washington, D.C., and kidnap presidential adviser Henry Kissinger.
