The new law would require a deposit on all bottles and is aimed at preventing littering along highways and in natural areas. Mr. Taylor said profit margins in the industry are small and "any increased costs wil have to be passed along to the consumer." I n s t e a d of the deposit sys tern, the association suggested an "ecological police force" with authority to issue tickets or even arest people committing a littering offence. Mr. Taylor said the bottlers wanted a solution to deal with the whole proble of littering. After a meeting with the soft drink asociation in Edmonton, Highways Minister Gordon Taylor said had "nothing to report." "They are opposed to the proposed legislation of course. C3859 MAH - Passed away in the city on Monday, March 8, 1971, following a lengthy illnes, Mr. Frank Mah, at the age of 70 years, beloved husband of Mr. Kim Mah, of 114 5th St. S. Born in China in 1900, the late Mr. Mah, came to Canada in 1916. He was co-owner of the old Sun Rise Cafe (now known as the Majorette) for a number of years and in 1960 went to work for the Government of Canada in Waterton Lakes National Park, retiring in 1967. Besides bis loving wife be is survived by one daughter, Fay May Wong of San Francisco; one son, Ken Mah in Hong Kong; and five grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 15, at Martin Bros. Chapel, 812 3rd Ave. S, with Rev. R. W. K. Elliott officiating. (Please note courtesy parking at rear of chapel). C3861 CLARK - Ward, passed away in Bow Island on Tuesday, March 9, 1971, at the age of 68 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Delia Clark of Bow Island. Mr. Clark was born in Mountain View, Alberta, November 24, 1902. He farmed for a number of years in the Bur dett and Bow Island area until taking the position of Custodian in the Senator Gershaw High School in Bow Island, where he has continued to work for the past 13 years. Left to mourn his passing besides his loving wife, Delia, are three sons, George of Calgary, Jim and Gregory at home; three daughters, Mrs. Brian (Carol) Mitchell, Demise and Janet all of Bow Island; two grandchil dren, Charlene and David Michell; one sister, Mrs. Rella Home and a brother, Dave. Fu neral services will be held in the L.D.S. Chapel in Bow Island on Friday, March 12 at 1 p.m., with Bishop Ellys D Piepgrass officiating. Interment will follow in the Bow Island Cemetery. C3858 MILLER - Martha, passed away in the city on Wednesday, March 10, 1971, at the age of 79 years. Mrs. Miller came to Canada in 1902 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Parkinson to Magrath from Coalville, Utah at the age of 11 years. She was the fourth child of a family of 14 children, nine girls and five boys, and was a twin. She received her schooling in Chalk Creek, Magrath and the Knight Academy. She worked and cooked for many of the ranches and work crews until she was married to Frank Miller on April 5, 1920. They continued to live at Magrath. She was an active member of the L.D.S. Church and worked in many of the organizations of the Church. Left to mourn her passing are three sons, Rex of Cardston; Merlin of Moose Jaw in the Armed Forces; and Kaye of Lethbridge; five grandchildren; three sisters, Ethel Braith-waite of Magrath, Olive Fisher of Calgary, and Florence Gran-berg of Warner. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank in May of 1970 and one son, Gordon, in 1924. Funeral services will be held in the Magrath L.D.S. Chapel on Saturday, March 13, 1971 at 2 p.m., with Bishop L.
