Dowling, government geologist, in an address at the an- nual meeting of the Canadian Min- ing Institute here yesterday. The difficulties under which the pion- eer work 3s being carried on in the Peace River district and else- where and in British Columbia, were mentioned by Dr. Dowling, who afso spoke of the chances of finding oil in the Great Slave Lake area and in the Mackenzie River district.
