Elsewhere in the NBA, Philadelphia '76ers surprised Capital Bullets 112-99, Chicago Bulls downed Houston Rockets 105-93, Milwaukee Bucks defeated Kansas City- Omaha Kings 111-99, and Los Angeles Lakers defeated Boston Celtics 116-111. In the American Basketball Association, Indiana Pacers got by San Antonio Spurs 92- 82, Utah Stars defeated Memphis Tarns 119-103, and New York Nets bombed San Diego Conquistadors 123-97. 76ers 112 Bullets 99 Larry Cannon, newly ac- quired by Philadelphia from the ABA's Pacers, added eight assists to the 27-point performance of Steve Mix. Bulls 105 Rockets 93 Bob Love had his best night of the year with 43 points for Chicago. Rudy Tomjanoyich led the Rockets with 27 points. Bucks 111 Kings 99 Mickey Davis equalled his career best by scoriig 22 points for Milwaukee. Davis pulled down 16 rebounds to give the Bucks a 53-30 edge on the boards. Lakers 116 Celtics 111 Gail Goodrich had 39 points and eight assists to lead the Lakers. The victory, the Lakers' eighth in their past nine contests, moved Los Angeles into a tie with Golden State for the lead in the NBA's Pacific Division.
