Ui Rylands informed the Herald this-morning that the Board of Trade were: endeavoring to make Lethbridge the very centre of business for the sutroundmg country. With this in view- several stops toward improvement' have already been brought about, the change m service on the Carmangay line being one, and the contemplated change m the Coutts branch being another. By this means ;the people in o.utlying districts will be able to come here for their merchandise, making the complete trip in' one day. It is up to the merchants .now to carry everything that the people from the country want, so that they, will go homo and tell- their neighbors about it. When the Radial railway,- and the Packing Plantj, and a few.;more enterprises are; under way, tlie sidewalks will have to-be widened to accommodate the throng.
