Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - June 29, 1972, Lethbridge, Alberta 2 THE IETHBRIDGE KERAID Thunday, June 29, 1972- City's Holiday Inn now officially open Scores of Lcthbridge and dis- trict residents, civic and pro- vincial politicians and senior executives of Commonwealth Holiday Inns of Canada Ltd. were scheduled to attend the of- ficial opening of the nine-storey, million Holiday Inn tliis afternoon. Developer Art Batty was to turn the building over to Holi- day Inn officials by presenting .1 gold key for the building. The building, built and owned by Holiday Village Ltd., is under long-term lease to CHIC which will operate the entire facility. Facilities in the city's highest residential building include: 139 guest rooms, a confer- ence room with one bedroom, two meeting rooms. 60-seat cocktail lounge the lobby open from 11 a.m. to midcight Monday to Saturday. 120-seat coffee shop-dining room off the lobby featuring a northern glass wall looking onto a 235-car parking lot and green area. The licensed dining lounge features tables and chairs while the coffee shop por- tion has booths. The coffee shop-dining room is open from a.m. to mid- night seven days a week. 250-s eat entertainment lounge on the lower level where draft beer, bottled beer, wine and shots of hard liijuor will be served. Labatt's Alberta Brewery Ltd. will be providing the draft beer.
