The changes provide more prime time documen- taries, a-monthly showcase current affairs program, greater frequency for the Ombudsman program and Newsmagazine, and launching of a new current affairs prime time program featuring Adrienne Clarkson. The 1973-74 season saw audiences for information prime time programs reaching new highs, and these Improvements are designed to build on the success of the past season, Mr, Nash said in announc- ing the changes. "We are trying to capitalize on our winners of last season and strengthen the schedule with programming more responsive to current Mr. Nash said. "The changes are being made following an inten- sive study of our programming by producers, editors and program managers across the country who have been carefully analyzing the performance of the past season and plans for 1974-75 and 1975-78." Under the changes, Sun- day nights will see a pattern of three Marketplace programs (10 p.m.) and three Om- budsman programs p.m.) with a major hour documentary every fourth week. This pattern will continue throughout the season. These documen- taries will be in addition to other prime time documen- taries being produced for the 1974-75 season. Tuesday nights will see Up Canada, and Newsmagazine, Every fourth week these series will be pre- empted for an hour-long showcase current affairs program. Thursday nights, a new program will be launched, to tentatively catted Adrienne at Large, with Adrienne Clarkson as host, spotting trends, per- sonalities and current issues in Canada and around the world In a series of 15 programs. The world will be her oyster in a series to be produced by Glenn Sarty and his Take 30 production team. Ms. Clarkson will con- tinue as host of the Monday through Friday after- noon Take 30 series with Paul Soles and Ed Reid.
