Bll has only been rodeoing for three or four years and is currently a permit holder in the Canadian Rodeo Cowboys As- sociation. Despite this short length of tirae spent in rodeo arenas, Bill has all the qualities Of a cham- pion. He has a good horse, he has a sure loop, and once on the ground his moves are as smooth as the best. His over-all style is not too unlike two time Canadian champion Jimmy Gladstone and Bill has worked with Jim- my polishing his technique in flanking calves. While relatively new to the business he first started roping while attending univer- sity at Bozeman, Mont. Bill has already won his share of awards. He is the reigning Chinook amateur circuit calf roping champion and has won a trophy saddle on the Southem Alberta Co-op Roping Circuit as well. He has also won five belt buckles. His first professional win came this spring when he took the roping honors at the 33rd annual Taber show. He follow- ed that up with a win the next weekend at a Chinook circuit rodeo in Cardston. Bill's CRCA permit allows him to rodeo both in the pro and amateur ranks unless the earns a this year. he must turn pro.
