That debentures oi the City of Lethbridge shall be Issued for the sum or sums to be borro'f.ed in one consecutive isSae in such sums as may be deemed expedient and shall have coupons attached thereto for the !.^ayment of interest. The said debentures shall all bear the same date and shall be dated and Issued -n'ithin t-n'o years after the fiua! �passing of tiis Bylaw and be payable at the e.xpiration of thirty (30) years from the date of the ls.sue thereof. Such debentures may be expressed either In Canadian Currency or Sterling money both in currency and Sterling money of equivalent value as provided by the Currency Act. as the Council may by resolution direct and shall bear interest atltbe rate of fi>-e per centum per annum payable half yearly and aslo both principal and interest may be made jjayable at the Bank ot Jloatreal in London. England, or at the chief office of the said bank in the.City of Toronto, the City of aiontreal or the City of Lethbridge in the Dominion of Canada, or at the chief office of the said bank in the City of New York, in the State of New York in the.United States of America, or at any other placo or places in Canada, Great Britain, or the United States as the Council may by resolution direct and -such debentures may contain any clause providing for the registration tliereof author-lied by the Lethbridge Charter. 3. That the said debentures shall be sealed with the seal of the City ot "Lethbridge and signed by the Mayor and City Clerk. The coupons shall be signed by the City Clerk and the signatures to the conpons may be Utiiographed or engraved. 4. Two thousand five hundred and eighty-oight dollars and ninety-six cents ($2,588.96). Therefore the Mayor and Council of the City of Lethbridge enact as follows: 1. The Council may borrow on the credit of the City cf Lctiibridgc for tJin purpo.se liereijihefore referred to, the sum of Ouft hundred and twenty-three thousand one hundred and seventy-one dollars and four cents ($123,171.04). 2. That debentures of the City of /.ethbrldge shall be KsBuod for tho sum or Hums l.o he borrowed in one ccnsecutivo issue in such sums as may be deemed expedient and shall have coupons attached thereto for tho payment of interest. The said debentures shall all hear the same date and shall he dated and issued within two years after the final passing of thisi Bylaw and ho payable at the expiration of thirty (30) years from the date of the issue thereof. That the &aid debentures shall be sealed with the seal of the City of Lethbridge and signed by the Mayor and City Clerk. The ccupons shall be signed by the City Clerk and the signatures to the coupons may he lithographed or ehgi-iaved. 4. And in addition to all other amounts there shall bo levied and collected In each year for thirty years, during the currency of the said debentures, on all tlie rateable property in the City of Lethbridge by special rate or rates sufficient therefore the fol-lo-wing sums for paying the Interest on and for forming a sinking fund for the payment of the debt created, namely: the sum of $6,15S.o5 shall be raised annually to pay the interest and the sum of $2,588.96 shail be rai.sed annually to provide a sinking fund to pay the debt. 5. That the Jlayor shall attend at Ills office In fchg City of Lethbridge at ten (10) o'clock in tlie forenoon on the 2nd day of July A.D. 1914 and if re-quasted shall appoint two persons to attend at the final eumming up of the votes and one person to attend at each polling place on behalf of the persons Interested In promoting the passing of this Bylaw and a like number on behalf of the persons interested in opposing the passing of this Bylaw. 6. The City Clerk shall at his office in the (?ity of Lethbridge on the 4 th day of July .\.D. 1914 at the hour of ten (10) o'clock in the forenoon flum up the number ot votes for and against the Bylaw. 7. This Bylaw shall take effect on the day of the final passing thereof. 8. The votes, of the burgesses duly riualified to vote on this Bylaw shall be taken on the 3r^ day of July A.D. 1914 at the following places in tlie City of Lethbridge, between the hours of nine (9) o'clock in the forenoon and eight (8) o'clock in the afternoon, namely: (a) For that ijortion of the City lying north of the C. P. Railway at tho Gymnasium at the Corner of IStlj St. and 4th Avenue North. By H. Dawson, who is appointed Deputy Returning Officer to take tho votes. lb) For that portion of the City lying South of tbo C. P. Railway at the Labor Temple, facing now Post Office on 7th Street, South. By E. 0. Stlcitley, who is appointed Deputy Returning Officer to take the votes.
