Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - June 19, 1970, Lethbridge, Alberta Upward Trend At Toronto TORONTO (CP) The To- ronto stock market jumped up- ward in light mid-morning trad- ing today. On index, industrials gained 1.35 to 156.83, base metals .32 to 91.27 and western oils 2.03 to 135.94. Golds were down .58 to 149.42. Volume by 11 a.m. was shares, up from at the same time Thursday. Gains outran losses 133 to 51 with 120 issues unchanged. The largest advances were made in food processing, in- dustrial mining, merchandising, Bteel, pipeline, tr.ist and loan and utility sectors. Among gaining.stocks, Moore was up 1 to Falconbridge 1 to 138, Noranda to Investors Overseas to Pacific Pete to Hud- son's Bay Co. to Bell lo 42% and Alcan Sherritt rose to Lake Dufault to Asamera to and Ranger 35 cents to PRICES STRONG MONTREAL (CP) Prices were strong in all sectors ex- cept banks in early trading today on the Montreal stock market. The composite index was up 1.01 to 153.66 at 11 a.m. Rapid Data was listed on the Montreal stock Exchange and traded 200 shares at 3.50. The Royal Bank dipped to Hog Prices EDMONTON (CP) Prices to 11 a.m. today supplied by the Alberta Hog Producers Marketing Board: Edmonton: Quoted and sell- ing 29.50. Thursday average 29.71. Red Deer: No sales. Thurs- day average 29.38. Calgary: Quoted 29.50 to 29.65, seling 29.55. Thursday averace 29.04. Lethbridge: No sales. Thurs- day average 29.38. Lloyd minster: No sales. Thursday average 29.32. Total bogs sold to 11 a.m. 192. Sows 20.91 at all points. UI Premiums Are To Become Tax Deductible Ottawa (CP) Unemploy- ment insurance premiums will be tax deductible by 1972 but benefits will be subject to in- come tax under the plan pro- posed by Labor Minister Bryce Mackasey Wednesday.
