C9596 LITT Passed away at Burdett on Monday, June 17, 1974, Arden at the age of 87 years. Born at Sebringville, Ontario. January 29, 1887. He taught school in the East before coming to Alberta in 1909. He was principal of the Grassy Lake and Burdett schools respectfully from 1913 until his retirement in 1952. Mr. Litt had been Secretary Treasurer for the Village of Burdett since 1935. He also operated Litt's Variety Store until the time of his passing. During the First World War he enlisted with the 113th Batallion Unit, later transferring to a Highland Unit. At the time of his passing he was a member of the Canadian Legion, Oddfellows and life member of the Masonic Lodge. On June 29. 1973 the community held a "Litt Night" honoring him for services rendered to the Village and area. Survivors include his wife. Isabel, from Burdett: three brothers. Clarence. Bert. Carl: one sister. Mrs. Vera Schmidt, all in Ontario. Funeral services will be conducted from the Burdett United Church on Thursday. June 20 at 10 a.m.. with Rev. Oliver Hodge officiating.
