Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - June 14, 1973, Lethbridge, Alberta Elliott fires two hit ball Kaye Elliott hurled two-hit ball for seven innings and ted the Lethbridge Generals to a 6-1 victory over Highway in Southern AJberta Major Men's Fastball League action at Dave Elton Park Wednes- day night. Elliott earned the mound win by giving up only a triple to Bob Letal and a single to Bill Plourd. Starter Ken Munton was tagged with the loss after being relieved by Tim Woods in the fifth inning. Wally Kruchkywich led the Generals with a triple and sin- gel while Alf Heggedal added a pair of doubles. Lloyd Yamagishi stroked a triple and doubles went to Rich Jankowiak and Dennis Kisio. Highway 23 suffered their second straight loss of the night by taking the short end of a 9-2 score against tfie Lethbridge Stars. Ron Zasadny went the dis- tance for the win allowing only three hits while Woods was banded the loss. Mitch Mychasiuk rapped a triple and single for the win- ners while Zasadny aided his own cause with a double and single. Bill Harbuz also poked a pair of singles. Munton was the heavy hitter for Highway 23 as he hammer- ed a second inning home run. In tonight's league play, CharleshpLm Safeways will hit the diamond twice. The Lethbridge Miners will be their opponents in the 7 p.m. match while Labor Club Athletics follow at p.m at the Dave Elton Park.
