Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - June 14, 1973, Lethbridge, Alberta 8 THE IETHBRIDCE HERAID Thunday, 14, 1973 Qldtimer Bert Patterson has lived at Fort Macleod longer than anyone else. Son of an 1876 North West Mounted Police officer, he born at Slide-Out May 23, 1888. He has the long- est continual membership in the Masons and is a life member of the Legion. Mr. Patterson is a keen, history buff and is work- ing hard to make the Fort Mac'eod Centennial a suc- cess. It will soon be under way. HEWS CoaMale Hospital receives gift COALDALE (HNS) The Coaldale Community Hospital Women's Auxiliary r e c e n t ly presented a cheque of to the hospital. It was designated for shock treatment and operating room equipment. President Mrs. Mike Batycky made the presentation to Frank F. Wiens, hospital ad- ministrator. The auxiliary agreed to con- duct a raffle to raise money for a projector which has been re- cently acquired by the hospital. This will be used for in-service training and also by the aux- 'Don't let me stop growing Lord' IRON SPRINGS (HNS) The June meeting of the Iron Springs UCW was held at the home of Mrs. Ann Yalowega. Mrs. Helen Oliver, vice-pres- ident, opened the meeting with the article Don't Let Me Stop Growing Lord, and the worship was Teach Me Understanding, read by Mrs. Doris Dalgliesh. Miss D e r r y 1 Shepherd Of Lethbridge gave an interesting talk on her experiences as an "au pair" girl in Switzerland during the last year. Her inten- tion was to spend the year learning languages and she ac- complished this by living with a Swiss family, doing babysit- ting and household chores, as well as attending language classes.
