Box Sparwood, B.C. CHRISTIE Passed away in Cardston on Monday, June 11, 1973, Dr. Victor Valentine Chris- tie at the age of 89 years of Cardston, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Sarah N. Christie predeceased him in 1951. Survivors include, Mr. Robert C. Chritstie of Calgary, Dr. Frank M. Christie of Leth- bridge, Mr. G. Clem Christie of Edmonton; one daughter, Miss Norma B. Christie of Van- couver; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, ond ope brother, Mr. Ryerson M. Chris- tie of Cardston. Born in Que- bec, the late Dr. Christie grad- uated from the Guelph Veter- inary College in 1904 and came west to Saskatchewan in 1906 and then moved to Twin Lakes, Alberta in 1908. He moved to Calgary where for 43 years he served the Dominion Govern- ment as the Ottawa represent- ative of the Health and mals Branch of the Department of Agriculture. At the time of his retirement in 1950, he was the chief inspector for the branch. On the occasion of his 80th birthday, Dr. Christie re- ceived recognition from her Majesty the Queen for outstand- ing services rendered to his country. He was a past Grand Master of the IOOF.
