Grain Act Discussions Adjourned OTTAWA (CP) The Com- m o n s agriculture committee today adjourned for a week to give committee members an op- portunity to draw up amend- ments to the government's pro- posed grain act. After an hour of discussion, members agreed to cancellation of meetings until June 16, when the committee will attempt to complete its study of the act which would replace the present Canada Grains Act. Prior to adjournment, Alf Cleave gar) tangled briefly with H. Gordon Barrett (LV-Lincoln) over profits made by grain com- panies. Mr. Cleave said he Is rot "worried about the grain com- doing all light, look at their balance sheets." "I'm not going to spend my time in this committee sweating about them." Youth Halted By Mace ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) A 77-year-old professor of ro- mance languages has asserted the authority of Cornell Uni- versity by swinging its symbol a young demon- strator. Morris Bishop, Alpha Kappa professor emeritus, carried the university mace in Mon- day's commencement exer- cises here and used it to beat hack a youth trying to wrest the microphones from univer- sity officials.
