HIGH RIVER {From the General regret was expressed by all who knew George J. Sockett when.they heard of his death on May 26th last. The deceased was only in his thirty-second year when death claimed him, and during his residence in this district he made himseH very popular with all classes. Four weeks ago he contracted a had cold which developed into typhoid fever, and al- though his condition was serious yet it was thought he would surviva, and the sad news of his death caused a great shock to his friends. Mr; and Mrs. Charles Sockett and Miss Sock- ett, of Toronto, parents and sister of deceased, were here during his illness and on Saturday last left with the body for Toronto where it will be buried in the family plot. Mr. Sock- ett, since coming west in 1903 has been very successful, having three sec- tions of land and a well stocked farm. On Wednesday, May 25th, inst., at one o'clock p.m. there took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Bol- ton, Gladys, a very pretty event, the occasion being that of the marriage of their daughter Hattie to Mr. Geo. Wooldridgc, of Oregon'. W. II. LeRoy, former manager of the High River hranch of the Do- minion Bank, severed his connections with that institution a short time ago at Winnipeg, where he had to do with the inspection department and j had charge of a city branch since leaving here.
