Even after two years your policy will continue in force if you have enroled in a retraining program to prepare you for another type of employment and you resume payments at the end of the two year benefit period. When you get it, your policy will already have an effective date on it-usually the same day we receive four Imagine a plan that pays you cash when you may need it most-yet may cost you absolutely nothing. We Canadians are lucky. When we are sick or hurt and cannot work, we get two-thirds of our weekly earnings up to a week for 15 weeks. Under the recent amendment to the Unemployment Insurance Act sickness and accident benefits begin after you have been out of work because of total disability for at least two weeks and continue during the disability for a total of 15 weeks. It's a great program. But, it has gaps that can cause money worries for you and your family... gaps that can force you to bor- row to keep up with regular household and to pay for those extra comforts and ser- vices you could need to speed your recovery. Of course, you could cut down on your standard of living during your disability. But could you really do so? Which expenses would you cut back? Rent or mortgage payments? Not likely unless you move your family. Give up your car? Would you really sell it knowing you'll need it when you're well again? Food? Utility bills? Installment payments on furniture and appliances? The fact is that most of our expenses are pretty we can't cut for a short period of time without causing us future problems. And worrying about them might slow up your recovery. And what happens when you can't go back to work at the end of 15 weeks when your Government-sponsored payments stop? To help you solve these money prob- lems that arise when you're sick or hurt, we have designed The Family Income Protection plan that helps fill the money gaps between your regular earnings and your Gov- ernment-sponsored benefits. Suppose you stay healthy, haven't you wasted a lot of mcr.ey on insurance? Healthy'people hate to buy insurance because they think maybe they won't need it. The trouble is no one can tell who will need it and who won't. Hospitals are full of people who once felt as good as you do right now. But now you don't have to gamble. If you take out a Family Income Protection Plan the money is there if you need it. If you stay well and collect no benefits for 10 continuous years from the Effective Date of your new policy, you get back every cent you paid in premiums! What's more, we will continue to refund all your premium payments at the end of each additional 10 year period. We will even refund all your premiums for a shorter renewal period immediately prior to the policy anniversary fol- lowing your 65th birthday. All you have to do is stay well and keep your policy in force. If you prefer you can leave your money on deposit to earn interest until you are ready to retire. When you want the money, we guar- antee to give it to you PLUS all accrued interest in one lump sum payment. Or you can wait until you are 65 years old or younger and ready to retire and then collect a monthly income from us for the rest of your life. The amount of your monthly retirement check will depend on how much money you have paid In premiums and how much interest you have earned. But the exciting point is this. If you take this policy now as a long-term protection for yourself and your family, you absolutely cannot lose. Sick or well-YOU MUST COLLECT! You can cancel anytime- but we can't. Your plan is Guaranteed Renewable to Age 65. That means that we can never cancel your policy during your active working years so long as you make your premium payments on time. Yes, no matter how often you collect no matter how much money you collect, we cannot cancel your policy. You can cancel at any time, of course.
