C.> June sioner King today boldly indicted the Dominion government on the opium traffic. Shocked at the enormous gross profits of a year made by the Hih Lung Tuck company of Bender street and the long period the firm has been engaged in the -bus- iness, twenty-two years, the commis sioner followed a severe denunciation of the trade by asking the counsel for the Mr. McEvery, "Could the city not refuse to license this McEvery, "No, prohibition rests en- tirely with the Dominion Parliament which recognizes the opium trade by levying a tax. upon its importations." "Well it seems added the commissioner, "when we are try ing to build up a country that we must allow''the importation from one part of the empire of a drug so detrimental to another part to per mil its manufacture. I intend to look ino this matter carefully. My own opinion is that it should be made im- possible to manufacture this drug in any part of the Dominion." CONTINUE LEAD BOUNTY Nelson,
