Executive Director Alberta Housing Corporation J1 India aid remains suspended WINNIPEG (CP) -Canada will continue its suspension of all foreign aid, excluding food, to India until that country can explain how detonating nuclear devices will achieve peaceful ends, External Affairs Minister Mitchell Sharp said during a weekend round of campaigning. "We want to know what their priorities he said in a Winnipeg interview. "We don't know what peaceful purpose this new nuclear capability proves and we'd like to find out before we extend any more assistance." He added that any non nuclear country now receiving foreign aid from Canada will have that cut off immediately if nuclear power is demonstrated. Grain moves west Operations at the Canadian Jovernment Elevator in are back to normal ollowing more than a week of slowed down activities caused by a labor dispute at terminal ;levators in Vancouver. An oder-in-council. passed by federal Labor Minister John Munro May 23, has put a ;top to the labor unrest until at least July 15. The minister stopped the labor dispute until after the federal election because, he said, it could adversely affect the national interests. Because of the slow down in the unloading grain cars at the terminal elevators, grain cars weren't being shipped to the coast. An 82-car unit train scheduled to leave the Lethbridge inland terminal May 21 didn't leave until May 30. During that time, truckers slowed their operations from 90 loads each day to 60. Another unit train is being loaded and will leave Lethbridge Tuesday at 12 p.m. Truckers have stepped up their shipments to 70-per-cent and elevator superintendent Jack Waterhouse expects them to be back to 90-per-day shortly.
