The committee agreed to summon Herman Ridder, ex-president of the A.I.P.A.. Melville Stone, Manager of the Associated Press, and other newspaper officials. These men will appear next Monday, and in the mean time the committee will stand in recess. By unanimous consent the commit- tee agreed to vote on the bill and all amendments next Wednesday. There is nruch doubt as to wheth- er it will be favorably reported. The debate in the senate, which is likely to begin .within ten days is almost certain to be prolonged. May 31.-Coutts and Sweet Grass people are considerably interested right now in the plan of starting a new town on the line of the Grent Northern railway eight or ten miles south of Sweet Grass, and speculation is rife as to the probable location of the new metropolis, as several local promoters who control land in that part, are understood to rivals for the privilege of having Ihe town on their property.
