Reply Box 1167, Fernfe, B.C THMf DEATH McINTYRE Monday, July 30, 1973, John Joseph, aged 87 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Mary Anne Mclntyre, of Pinch- 3r Creek, formerly of Calgary and Crows Nest Pass. He was born at Caledonia Mines, Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, receiving his degree in mining from King's University Engineering School, came west in 1910 and was em- ployed by Beaver Mines. He returned home in 1913 and mar- ried Mary Anne Cadegan in Bridgeport, Nova Scotia, Jan- uary of 1914. In 1920, they moved to the Crows Nest Pass where he worked for West Can- adian Collieries. He was man- ager of Mohawk Bituminous Mines in 1928, then of Interna- tional in 1935, being appointed managing director in 1990. Also in 1944, he was appointed gen- eral manager of McGUlivary Creek Coal and Coke Co., re- tiring in 1951. He was prede- ceased by one son, Joseph, in 1965. Surviving, besides his loving wife, are three sons, Jerry of Nanton, Charlie, of Richmond, B.C., Jack of Delta, B.C.; five daughters, Mrs. Ray (Mary) Schmidt of Pincber Creek, Mrs. Patrick (Winni- fred) McCarthy of Camrose, Mrs. Lew (Blanche) Strasser, Trail, B.C., Mrs. Fred (Patri- cia) Hanlon, Sicamous, B.C.; a Sister Clotilda Mclntyre (Sis- ter of St. Martha) Antigonish, N.S.; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Winnifred Mclntyre, Edmon- ton, 23 grandchildren; three sisters. Loft of Milk River. Born in Denmark, the late Mrs. Loft came to Canada to Milk River in 1914 and has resided there ever since. She is surviv- ed by her loving husband, and two daughters, Mrs. W. (Em- ma) Swanson of Milk River, Mrs. J. (Margaret) O'Donnell of Milk River; two sons, Ed- ward and Arthur, both of Milk River; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; two sis- ters, Miss Johanna Pedersen and Mrs. Minnie Thomson both of Denmark; two brothers, Mr. Martin Pedersen of Milk River and Mr. Peter Pedersen in Den- mark. C985 SLOBODA Passed away in the city on Sunday, July 29, 1973, following a brief illness, Mr. Joseph Sloboda at the age of 70 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Bernardina Sloboda of 308 5th Ave. of Warner. Born, rais- ed and educated Czechoslo- vakia, the late Mr. Sloboda came to Canada in 1928 and settled in the Warner commun- ity where he farmed until his retirement in 1967. Upon his re- tirement be moved into the Town of Warner and has resid- ed there until his passing He was a life member of the Warn- er Elks Lodge-No. 222 and Our Lady of Lourdes Church. He was also very active in local bowling in Warner. Besides his loving wife he is survived by one son Edward of Warner; one daughter, Miss Terri Sloboda of Lethbridge, and two grand- daughters. The Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at a.nx in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Warner with Rev. Father Don O'Dwyer celebrant. Interment will follow in the Warner Ceme- tery. C984 PLETT Katherina, passed away in Coaldale on Sunday, July 28th, 1973 at the age of 79 years, beloved wife of the late Cornelius Plett of Coaldale. Mrs. Plett was born in Russia on August 4th, 1893 and came to Canada in 1929 settling in Alberta. They moved to Coal- dale in the mid fifties and she had continued to reside in Coal- dale until the time of her pass- ing. She was a member of the Coaldale Mennonite Brethren Church. She leaves to mourn her passing four sons, Aron of Calgary, Cornelius of Rich- mond, B.C., John of Burnaby, B.C. and David of Bakersfield, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Henry (Susie) Peters of Missauga, Out., Mrs. John (Tina) Zerenickel of Richmond, B.C., Mrs. Don (Nettie) Berlin of Saskatoon, Sask. and Mrs. Henry (Minnie) Kliever of Re- gina; 31 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She has two brothers and one sis- ter living in Russia, George Reimer and Nickolai Reimer and Sara Reimer as well as a brother. John Reimer in Cor- dell. Oklahoma, and three sis- ters in the U.S.A., Asatha and Mary in Ok'ahoraa and Hr'en in Minneapolis. Minnesota. She was predeceased by her hus- band. Cornelius in 1961.
