VrSSER Hielke Pieter, jassed away in the city on Thursday, July 27, 1972, at the age of 64 years, after a lengthy llness, beloved husband of Mrs. Harta Visser. Mr. Vlsser was lorn in Dusseldorf, Germany on October 8, 1907 and immigrated with his parents to Holland at .he age of eight years. He mar-riel Marta van dev Wai in Hol-and to 1934 and came to Canada with his wife and four sons in 1955. He leaves to mourn lis passing besides his loving wife Marta; four sons, Herman of Powell River, B.C., Hein (Henry) G. of Lethbridge, lielke (Bill) W. of Calgary and Piet of Irvine, Alberta; eight Jrandchildren; one sister Mrs. F. C3368 if f V HANEY Passed away at the residence in Picture Butte on Friday, July 28, 1972, Mr. Harry May Haney, at the age of 89 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Leone Haney of Picture Butte. Born in Leando, Iowa in 1882, the late Mr. Haney moved lo Goodland, Kansas in 1885 with his parents and in 1901 they moved to Oregon. In 1906 he homesteaded in the Barons district and married the former Leone Kane of Iron Springs in 1912 and homesteaded at Cut-bank, Montana in 1913. In 1926 he moved to the Picture Butte District with his family where he has resided until his passing. Mr. Haney was one of Alberta's Master Farmers in 1960. He was a member of the Picture Butte Lions Club. Besides his loving wife he is survived by, two sons, Mr. Leonard Haney and Mr. Howard Haney both of Picture Butte; four daughters, Miss Frances Haney of Calgary, Mrs. O. E. (Kathleen Woodhouse, of Calgary, Mrs. J. G. (Alice) Wickend, of Lethbridge, Mrs. R. B. (Ruth) Godwin of Hegina, Sask.; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mable Jones of Lacombe, Mrs. Gertrude Fitchie of California, and Mrs. Florence Wolde of Kalispell, Montana. He was predeceased by one daughter, one sister and too brothers. The funeral service will be held on Monday at p.m., in South-minster United Church Lethbridge, with Rev. Dr. R. W. K. "It's not new to the extent that cattle haven't been flown before, but it's to be done on a commercial basis with commercial not exotic breeds." The first shipment is scheduled for "about Aug. 9" from Saskatoon to Toronto, the second about a week later from Calgary to Toronto or Montreal. Both will be on Air Canada chartered DC-8S. "We want to pin down the shrinkage and costs from Mr. Hopkins said. "Cattle involved will probably weigh about 700 pounds." Cattle on the Calgary flight are expected to weigh 500 to pounds with a to capacity. Air Canada will use pallet units, or spun-glass shells for the cattle. Mr. Hopkins said the planes are capable of holding 13 pallets "with one handling pounds, depending on the size of the cattle." The cattle are Insured through Air Canada and livestock insurance companies, he said, adding it is unknown cattle he air many will be shipped. Livestock shippers want to discover the results of domestic air shipping before thinking of international flights, he said. Inquiries for cattle have been received from Europe, Japan and Taiwan. "I see an Intense domestic movement of cattle by this Mr. Hopkins said in an interview. Air Flight time from Calgary to Toronto would be three hours and 15 minutes, opposed to fifth morning delivery in Toronto by rail.
