Child- ren start on tricycles, then before long want two- wheelers like the big kids. Training wheels help, but they're discarded shortly and the next move is to bigger bikes with gear sys- tems. Some get tired o f pedalling and graduate to motor-powered cycles. Trouble is, police say, there is little in the way of train- ing at any stage. There" have been more than twice as many bicycle ac- cidents this year than were in 1972. Motorcycles can be even more danger- ous. Two men, Dario Berti and Karl Gold, who were riding on Wednesday are still in hospital in satisfact- ory condition. The motor- cycle they were riding hit a car. Some move up to ;
