Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - July 27, 1973, Lethbridge, Alberta Science-fiction team plan for animated series The press has often referred to Star Trek as "the snow that will not die." The science-fiction series may be just that, for it returns to the NBC television network, Saturday mornings, this fall in a new form: animation. Gene Roddenbeny, creator of the series which ran for three seasons on NBC-TV, is guiding the animated Star Trek, and has brought back many of his original staff members to work on the new version. The first person to report for work was Dorothy-C. Fontana, story editor for the first two years of Star Trek. Ms. Fontana, who also wrote scripts for many episodes, asked writers who had pre- viously worked for the series if they were interested in writing new Star Trek dra- mas. "I didn't get one Dorothy said. David Gerrold was one of the f test writers to be contacted. His script, The Trouble With Tribbles, had been nominated for both the Hugo Award and the Georges Melies Award for Outstanding Cinematic Achievement In Sci- ence-Fiction "I was working on a new novel-but I stopped when Doro- thy Gerrold said.
