"WHEREAS it has been estimated that it will be necessary to borrow amounts for the different works as heroinafter'set tortli; AND WIIEItBAS' it is necessary to borrow upon debentures such sums as are required to pay for the cpm- iiletlon o[ such works, making due allowance for discount on the sale ot debentures bearing a reasonable rate of interest and the necessary expenses in connection the issue and sale thereof; ANB WHEREAS it is expedient to borrow the several sums required the pw poses hereinafter mentioned on the credit of the City of Lethbridge and to Issue debentures therefor pay- able In thirty years from the date-of the issue thoieof, bearing interest at the rate of five per centum per annum payable halt yearly; AND WHEREAS it is desirable that the Bj-laws for the several purposes hereinafter mentioned may be Incor- porated in one By-la'ff; AND WKERBAS the amount of .the. loan required for each of the. works hereinafter mentioned, and toe amounts required to be raised annual-. ly to pay the interest and provide a sinking fund for the payment of. the debt aro set forth 'la the following propositions1 PROPOSITION "A" 11) i. Such debentures may he-expressed either in Canadian Currency or Sterling money or both ,in currency, and Sterling money of equivalent value as provided by the Currency Act as the Council may by resolution direct and slutll bear in- terest at the rate of five per centum per annum payable half yearly and as to both principal, and interest may be made payable at the Bank of Montreal in London, England, or at the chief office t! tho said Bank in the City of Toronto, the.City of or the City .of Lethbridge in the Dominion of Canada or at the chief office cf the said Bank in the City of New York in the -State of New York in the United America or at any other place or -places in Canada, Great Brit- ain, or the United States as the Coun- cil may by resolution direct and such debentures may contain any clause providing for the registration thereof authorized by the Lethbridge Charter. 3.
