Thompson, requested that the li- cense for dairies be-reduced to a year, and that the Board of Health be given jurisdiction over dairies, so that they would be in a" position to accept the Dominion government's offer of aid in connection with administering the tuberculin test with a view to- ward the elimination of bovine tuber- culosis. will be the first city in Canada to avail itself of this opportunity and it is necessary that the control of dairies, under the pro- vincial regulations and the city by- laws, be directly under the board of health. The matter is to be referred to the council. The ?1 fee is asked so that the smaller dairies, when as low as one cow is kept, may come under the inspection of the board without working a hardship on the owners.
