Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - July 23, 1974, Lethbridge, Alberta iiuiy inc keinamuuB Doris Clark Grandmother troubled by. 'slap-dash'. DEAR How can I tactfully tell my married daughter that she should be a bit more fussy about how she keeps house and also to be fussier about her two little aged five and She does not take the time she should with little like changing the baby's diapers often enough and washing them and combing their hair. She is quite a good cook but and I think her husband would like her to be a bit different too. We just came back from a two week visit to her and enjoyed it so much. I helped all I but somehow could not bring myself to tell her things which she could do to im- prove. She is the best hearted would do anything for anyone and is very well liked in her so maybe this is more impor- tant. What Matters DEAR WHAT There are as many answers to this question as there are homemakers. We all have our own standards of perfection or slapdash ishness. If a public health nurse were to visit and actually see a threat to the children's this would be one thing. But I gather the whole at- mosphere is healthy and happy just a little mess- ed up looking. I can't see you dictating a new tactfully or otherwise. If there is love in that home and your daughter's com- munity benefits by her open keep your doubts to yourself. Enjoy her. I know one home where a when she describes it as a place could just take a pitcher milk and throw it around and nobody would notice the Yet the place fairly radiates with along wiih all seven members of it. So much for immaculate DEAR I read the letter in your column signed I would like to answer this gentleman as I am also in my 50's. I have nothing against these beer but I myself would not go in there looking for a com- panion. But you do have to get to know one another and it really gives you a lift to have someone to talk to. Companionship is a great thing if a person meets the right one. Alone Too. And the way to meet up with a com- panion is to be where peo- ple are. This does not have to be in a beer joint or night club. To join the ranks of fine middle aged people who are helping out in a hospital or recreation centre is a first class way to meet a kindred spirit.
