CCP) A Kingston penitentiary prisoner graphically here how lie played dead during the prison riot of 1971 when he and other men serving sentences for sex- ual offences were methodically beaten for seven hours. Robert Sheehan, 30, told a Criminal Injuries Compensation Board hearing he was chained heside Brian Ensor, one of two RGX offenders clubbed to death by fellow prisoners. Sheehan said that shortly lie- fore the beatings ended, he played dead to avoid further blows. Ensor beside him was moan- ing.
