Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - July 16, 1971, Lethbridge, Alberta _ THE IETHBRIDOE HERALD Friday, July New record for singles: per head 4-H clubs sell worth of prime beef By HIC SWIHART Staff Write' A total of 283 4-H calves sold as singles for a new record average price of per head as Ihe annual show and sale by 13 southern Alberta 4-H clubs concluded in Lethbridge. Total for the 283 animals was In groups of five, 110 calves sold for a total of an, average of per head. In 1970, there were only 16 pens of five but there were also 301 single animls entered. Wilma Strocve of the Park Lake 4-H Beef Club picked up the grand champion banner rith her 1.210 pound Hereford Charolais-Angus cross sold for 95 cents per pound and brought SI .064.
