Invited by the Exhibition Board- and the German Cana- dian Club to help Whoop-Up days, die band is making its second Lehtbridge visit. It performed in the city two. years ago on a Western Canada tour. Some sounds wffl be free. The German ensemble joins in a band! concert 7 pan. Sunday on the lawns in front of the Nikka Yuko Garden. Monday morning the band marches in the Whoop-Up pa- rade through Letbbridge. More than marching music is included on its repertoire. The Sauerland Musicians, part of the larger band, will play for- a dance at the Exhibition Pavilion tonight. Tickets to tfce dance are on sale at the Old Country Saus- age Shop, the Norbridge Meat and Sausage Shop or title North Side Bakery at per person. Entrance to the 8 p.m. event wffl cost per person at the door. Twenty years old this year, the band has a distinguished reputation, winning 200 prizes in attendance at more than 250 competitions. In 1968 in a European marching band contest it won first prize over 178 entries. "Facilities for every sport imaginable" fe how one ex- hibition spokesman described the Sports Canada presenta- tion hi the Whoop-Up Com- pound. The claim isn't as preten- tious as it seems when one ex- amines the list of sports to be demonstrated: canoeing, vol- leyball, basketball, basebaB, archery, skydiving, skating and there are more. Young people of the district win be given the opportunity to participate in these sports, as well as taking the standard children's fitness exam. The service wffl be provided by Route 1, Route 1A and Route 2 buses. Routes 1 and 1A win provide 20-minute service from 7 a.m. to p.m. to the south gate all week, and 40-minute ser- vice after p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sat- urday. Twenty minute ser- vice wffl be maintained until 10 pjn. Thursday and Friday. Route 2 will operate directly to the west gate every 30 min- utes, from 7 a.m. until pm. The bus wfll enter the grounds at the west gate and exit at the north gate. Other routes will maintain regular routes and schedules.
