His Hard Times had people reminiscing about the Depression and his new is a com- pilation of people talking about their jobs and their lives. The books are tremen- dously popular and so naturally TV is interested. The network moguls always sniff around when something succeeds in another wondering if there's any way that success can be transferred to TV. And they're after good old Studs. Their interest has been heightened because they know his background. Studs Terkel is a veteran of broadcasting. He's a Chicagoan and he was there when Chicago had its own style of television. In those semi good the Chicago style of TV created three programs which were milestones. One was Garroway at with Dave Garroway's low pressure variety hour. Another was delightful Fran and Ollie.
