(AP) Ub Iwerks, Walt Disney's chief car- toonist and the man who helped create Mickey Mouse, has died at age 70. After he met Disney in 1919 in Kansas City he helped produce the first Mickey Mouse short, Plane Crazy, and helped launch the silly symphony cartoon se- ries. Iwerks won two Academy Awards in 1959 and 1965, both for technical contributions to the movies. Comedians Lome Michaels and Hart Pomerantz ended a television comedy spe- :ial by asking the public to mail in "bucks for pucks." The special contained a skit n which the audience was the puck crop was down because the country's puck trees were suffering from Dutch puck disease. Mr. Michaels said in an in- terview today that his office has received "a lot of fur.ny money" such as monopoly money and play money. It also received an envelope with two cents taped inside.
