A sister for Lea-Ann and Richie. X1790 DEATH CUMMINS - Passed away in Pincher Creek on Sunday, January 24, 1971, Mary Ed-wina Cummins, aged 87 years, beloved wife of George Cummins of Pincher Creek. Born in Selkirkshire, Scotland, she came to Ontario with her parents in 1903 and 1904 she came west to Calgary. During the First World Wat she served as an army nurse and following the war, was on the staff of the Colonel Belcher Hospital in Calgary. She married George Cummins and they moved to the Robert Kerr district south of Pincher Creek in 1921, where they farmed until retiring to Pincher Creek in 1964. Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. E. (Mar-jorie) Schmidt, Rimbey, Alberta, Mrs. Dorothea Smith, Pincher Creek and Mrs. Gladys Cummins, Calgary; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held in the Pincher Creek United Church on Wednesday at 2.00 p.m., Rev. K. Jordan officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery. C3124 DEATH DeMAERE - Passed away in Fort Macleod on Monday, January 25, 1971, John Edward DeMaere, aged 60 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Ethel DeMaere of Granum. Born in Chinook, Alberta, he moved to Fort Macleod with his family in 1917. He later returned to Chinook and married Ethel Young in Killam in 1938. They have farmed in the Granum district until the time of his death. He was a 25 year member of the Granum Elks Lodge. He is survived by four sons, Bob and Syd of Calgary, Jim of Sydney, Australia and Phil of Granum; two daughters, Mrs. J. (Kay) Palmar of Calgary and Mrs. M. (Colleen) Pansky of Lethbrldge; six grandchildren; three brothers and one sister. The funeral service will be held in the Granum United Church on Thursday at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Peter Walker officiating.
