Stefan, who plays Gus Calhoun in The Beachcombers series each Sunday at 7 p.m. on CBC television, wasn't hurt when landed on soft earth and watched the horse disappear down the road, but he decided he'd rather spend his Saturday afternoons doing something else. Watching television wasn't the answer, although Stefan still considers himself "the champion TV watcher in his so his father took him downtown to audi- tion one day for a part in a production of Peter Pan. Stefan, sure he wouldn't get a so nervous that he left before his audition came up, A week later, he was called to try again. This time, he won the part of Michael, one of the Darling children. The production ran for two weeks and was held over an extra week and Stefan's new career was launched. His Saturday afternoons have been busy ever since. Actually, Stefan's first acting role was at school, in a production of The Sleeping Beauty. He played Prince Charming. When he was called to bend down and kiss the sleeping Princess, he confesses: "I faked it. I bent and put my face over her's and just pretended to kiss her. I didn't want the other kids to tease he says. Now that he's a professional, Stefan wouldn't think twice of kissing a girl... if it's in the script.
