His task was made difficult by the bitter differ- ences between the Flemings, or Dutch-speaidng Belgians, and the French-speaking part of the population. The cabinet will be another Catholic-Socialist coalition, with nine ministers from Eyskens' Catholic Social Christian party and nine from the Socialist party, and five state secretaries from each party. Prince's car racked up PORTSMOUTH, England (AP) Prince Charles bent his Aston Martin sports care in a five-vehicle pileup in Ports- mouth today but cot out unhurt. Cabinet quits after defeat SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) President Salvador Allende's cabinet resigned today in order to let him restructure the 13- member body following stun- ning defeats last Sunday for congressional byelections. Allende, first democratically- elected Marxist president in the Western Hemisphere, is ex- pected to announce a new cabi- net during the weekend or at government candidates in two the beginning of next week. Private broadcasters, who wanted the last of Britain's available TV channels, get a consolation prize in mat they earlier were given the go-ahead for commercial radio, which is expected to become operative in 1973. inn extended TV hours also will give them more adver- tising revenue. They now have one TV chan- nel while the BBC has two. For the BBC, the announce- ment by Communications Minis- terChristopher Chataway yesterday means it can extend its radio broadcasting by three hours a day while the prospect of competition from a second commercial TV channel is de- ferred. At present the independents and one BBC channel are al- lowed 66 hours of TV broadcast- ing a week. The second BBC channel, leaning somewhat to educational and cultural pro- grams, gets 36 hours a week. The Independent Television Authority, which regulates the commercial operation, had asked that the available fourth channel be allocated 'to its broadcasters. But Chataway told Parliament he is "not per- suaded that the time has yet come to allocate me fourth net- work." The minister emphasized that no decrease will be permitted in the amount of time given to ed- ucational programs and such re- gional ones as those in the Welsh language. On the radio side, the enlarge- 'Inside job' suspected in theft EDMONTON (CP) An "in- side job" is suspected in the theft of cash and cheques to- talling from the vault of tte main post office, police said Thursday. Police and postal inspectors said they had no leads yet or the theft of five registered packages early Wednesday.
