This resolution was to be considered immediately after resum- ing business evening session. Proportional RtprtMntatlen A resolution was adopted urging that representations be made to the provincial and federal governments to hold all elections possible under the proportional representation sys- tem of voting, but where this is not possible, that ia in seats which must continue to have single member representation, the single transfer- able system of voting shall ue put in- to force. This Is merely the system now in use in Lethbridge for the elec- tion of commissioners, providing that the candidate elected shall represent a majority ot those voting. The Paper Proposition The following resolution on the question of a U. F. A. newspaper was passed with the consent of President Wood: "Whereas, the convention has gone on record as being in favor of a paper controlled by the association; "And whereas, there is a paper be- ing published at the present time, The Western Farmer and Weekly Albertan and in the Interests of far- mers; "Therefore be It resolved, that this convention give full power to the board of dlrectors-to make any work- ing arrangement with the aforesaid publishers if they see flt."
