Lethbridge Herald (Newspaper) - January 18, 1971, Lethbridge, Alberta Monday, January 18, 1971 - THE IETHBRIDOC HERALD - 17 This is the NEW HOME of the LETHBRIDGE REAL ESTATE BOARD The Official Opening will take place on WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 20* "We are happy to have added to the growth of our City during the year 1970, and now with our enlarged premiiet, we feel a more permanent and important part of thi� great community ,the City of Lethbrldge and district" said the 1971 President of the IETH-BRIDGE REAL ESTATE BOARD, Mr. Woodrow Stringam. He goes on 16 say "you see, our Board is a SERVICE ORGANIZATION, not only for the members, but all REALTORS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC AS WELL. So many people are of the opinion that our only purpose is the MULTIPLE LISTING SERVICE, this is not the case, we are very involved in the EDUCATION OF ALL REAL ESTATE PEOPLE, completely concerned about their standard of ethics In deal-inglng with one another and the general public, and wish to promote the highest public relations by maintaining a very high standard of conduct among our members." "We are very interested In the civic development and economic growth of our community and are always ready and willing to assist in any way we can, in matters pertaining to our profession, to bring about change* and improvements. The lower floor of our new office will provide the much needed space for our Educational programs, while the upper floor will house our business office and a Board room. At the time of our incorporation in 1956 we operated from a small one room office, to we feel this is a great stride forward. Our original membership of course was 25 licensed Realtors while today we boast a membership of 119 licensed Realtors in the City and District. Oh yes, we welcome the Rural Realtors, in fact we now have members from Bow Is-, land, Taber, Coaldale, Pincher Creek, Cowley and Blairmore, being serviced by the Board. Our business in 1970 was up 6% over our 1969 volume of 5 million dollars, and we are looking forward to an upswing in business for 1971 with the University development on the West Side. We have great faith in the future of our .City and. intend to do our utmost to make a very worthwhile contribution to both the City and citizens of Southern Alberta, we do hope they will not hesitate' in calling upon us for service."
