Dodds General Manager J55 Continued on page 26 Warrant issued A warrant has been issued for the arrest, of Leland Lawrence Wachler, charged with making threats and ex- tortion by one of the accused in the robbery of a bank in Barons Dec. 13. Wachler, Calgary, fail- ed to appear in provincial court today to answer to the charges. He is charged with threatening the life of Steve Regan, one of three men charged with armed robbery after was taken from the Royal Bank in Barons. Mr. Wachler is also charged with extortion in that he threatened Mr. Regan with a Firearm and forced him to pay Mr. Regan is free on nis own recognizance on the armed robbery charges. Both charges were laid by Mr. Regan after- an incident near Barons Dec. 17. Hat Socred nominations tonight The Alberta Social Credit Party will hold a joint nomination in Medicine Hat tonight for the Cypress and Medicine Hat constituencies. Both nominations will be held in the Medicine Hat College, but in different rooms. A joint meeting will then be addressed by provin- cial party leader Werner Schmidt. Frank Romeike, a farmer in the Seven Persons district, and Barry Bernhardt, an in- surance agent from Foremost, will contest the Cypress nomination. The seat is now held by former premier Harry Strom, who is retiring. Bill Wyse, sitting member for Medicine Hat, is not ex- pected to be opposed in his bid for that nomination. He was first elected to tbe Legislature in 1971. The nominations will bring the number of candidates nominated by the party to run in the next election to 10. Boy, 10, released PARIS (AP) Police today arrested a man they said was the kidnapper of a 10-year-old boy released after payment of a ransom. A woman accomplice was believed still at large, police iid. The suspect, about 50 years old, was arrested hours after the boy, Olivier Farhi, return- ed to his parent's apartment. The alleged kidnapper was not immediately identified: Olivier Farhi was abducted Tuesday, but the kidnapping was not made public until the child was home again. ;
