N. Reilly, and Don Rice III join Dean for an evening of fun-filled music and humor on Thursday, January 21, 8:30 - 9:30 p.m. over CTV, Channel 13 tTalk series is added to Emmy awards ' A new award will be included among the 18 program and performer categories to be Emmy-honored during the recently revamped 1971 National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Emmy Awards program. The 90-minute awards special will be colorcast live from the Hollywood Palladium on the NBC Television Network Sunday, May 9. A new award for the outstanding "Talk" series will be added in this year's categories. Navy medal for Bob Hope NBC-TV star Bob Hope was honored with the U.S. Navy's highest civilian award Tuesday, Jan. 12 in a shipboard ceremony at the Naval Air Station, North Island, San Diego. Secretary of the Navy John Chafee presented the Navy's Distinguished Public Service Award and Gold Medal to Hope for his 30 years of bringing "cheer, good will and encouragement into the lives of Navymen and Marines afloat ashore and overseas." New producer for Tommy Hunter Show Jim Guthro, Planning and Production Director of TV Variety, has announced the appointment of Bill Lynn as producer of The Tommy Hunter Show, seen Fridays, at 9:00 p.m. on CBC-TV. Lynn is a gregarious 32-year-old Torontonian who returns to the Hunter show where he was a writer after two years' absence. During this time he and David Mayer collaborated on writing numerous shows in the U.S. and England. Two big sporting events set for TV Two of the biggest events in North American professional sport are upcoming on the CBC television network in the next few days with color telecasts of the National Football Leagues Super Bowl Game Sunday, Jan. 17 at 12 noon, and the National Hockey League's All-Star Game Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 6:30 p.m. both on Channel 7. The Super Bowl contest from Miami's famed Orange Bowl will attract millions of viewers in Canada and the U.S. to watch the Dallas Cowboys tangle with the Baltimore Colts. Dallas disposed of the San Francisco 49ers to gain the National Football Conference title while Baltimore defeated the Oakland Raiders- to win the American Conference title. Baltimore's attack, with the pinpoint passing of veteran Johnny Uratas, will be matched against the tough Dallas defence and fast-moving Cowboy ground game with speedsters such as Bob Hayes and Walt Ganison. The hockey stars wDl represent the cream of NHL players from the league's Eastern and Western Divisions. They meet in Boston Garden, home ice of last year's Stanley Cup champions. ~ A new twist this year will be the addition of eight Chicago players chosen as all-stars to the Western Division line-up. With the Black Hawks now a member of the newer organization, Bobby Hull and-or Stan Mikita might make the difference in giving the expansion team players their first victory. Commentators on the CBC-TV Hockey Night in Canada telecast of the All-Star game will be: Danny Gallivan on play-by-play; Bob Goldham as color commentator; Ward Cornell, intermission host; Babe Pratt from Vancouver as highlights analyst; Jack Dennet wkh the statistics scoreboard; and Brian MacFarlane conducting interviews. THE FLIP WILSON SHOW - Rated highly by many as one of the best new comedy-variety shows of the season. Flip Wilson will make his debut on Channel 13 Saturday, Jan. 16 at 8 p.m. His guests will be Marcel Marceau, Arte Johnson, Moms Mabley and Doug Kershaw.
