THAT RIOT \ (Toronto Globe) A mob in Lethbridge, enraged by a false rumor, attacked the Chinese quarter and acted with all the unreasoning violence characteristic of mobs. Then it discovered its mistake. In the meantime a few mounted policemen arrived and put an end to further violence. A few arrests were also made, and the offenders were fined the following morning. Mob law must be Bternly repressed wherever it makes its appearance in this country. CHIEF JUSTICE OF N. B. Justice Bcrker levated-A.S. Whit*. A New, Judge (Western Associated Press.}.
