(AP) Now it's Prof. Desi Arnaz, that onetime Cuban singer who be- came a wealthy actor and pro- ducer. The appointment of Arnaz to a visiting lectureship that will pay him dining the spring semester 'was announced at Sao Diego State College. The four month term begins Feb. 7. Arnaz will hold "a rank com- parable to full a spokesman said, teaching studio production and acting to upper- classmen and graduate stu .dents. Arnaz became a vocalist with a band a' age 17 and later or- ganized his own band. After several movies in the 1940s, he married Lucille Ball and, as president of their Desilu Stu- dios, built a major television en- terprise. Arnaz and Miss Ball were di- vorced in I960, and she won half of their television empire, then valued at million. Two years later he sold his interest In the firm to Miss Ball and subse- quently became an independent TV producer. In 1963, he married Edith Ilirsch.
