The official North Viet- namese radio called Schlesinger's statement "a very serious violation of the spirit and word of the Paris agreement, an insolent challenge to the Vietnamese people and to public opinion all over the world." In a television interview in Washington Sunday, Schlesinger estimated the possibility of a major North Vietnamese assault at less than SO per cent. But he said it was "highly likely" that President Nixon would ask Congress for authority to provide U.S. tac- tical air support if the North Vietnamese launched an offensive. Peking ups flight fare PEKING (Reutwr) The foreign community in Peking learned today that air fares within China are to be raised by 150 per foreigners only The price increase, which comes into effect Jan 15, means that the single air fare from Peking to of the routes most used by foreigners on their way out to Hong cost the equivalent of instead of Decapitated DACCA, Bangladesh (Reuter) Police are hunting for killers who shot and decapitated six persons while they slept during the weekend Newspapers published pic- tures of the decapitated bodies of the members of the family of a clerk in the president's secretariat, a politician and two students The politician was Oma Kazi Shamsuddin Miah, a leader of the ruling Awami League party, and one of the students was the son of a senior police officer They were killed in their beds Saturday night Yawning parents worry over school in dark NEW YORK (AP) Millions of children set out for school in the dark today because of the switch to Daylight Time in the United States, leaving behind worried, yawning parents. "This is grounds for im- said one New York area father jokingly, referring to the fact that the time change is part of Presi- dent Nixon's energy- conservation plan. School officials received calls from parents who said they don't care if their children are won't let them set out in the dark. Washington County, Md school officials said they were flooded with -calls A spokesman for the Charlotte- Mecklenberg, N.C., school district said "We've had calls from people concerned about their kids going to school in the dark. There nave been no mishaps yet, but keep your fingers crossed." Some schools changed school hours so that classes wouldn't open until it is light and in one area the swith drew a complaint from a parent. PARENT OBJECTS Robin Poling of Clarksburg, W. Va, where school hours were changed from 8 15-3 IS to 9-15-4.IS, said- "I caught the bus in the dark when I was growing up and I didn't mind because I wat getting home early Mrs. Poling, who has two children, said the later hours will cause problems for work- ing mothers and added- "Think of all the people who are going to have to change their after-school schedules like scout troops and danc< teachers and the like." A Westchester County, N.Y., woman MM the change to Dwylifht Time has caned jproMemi "emotionally and physically" for her eight- year-old daughter who has to walk half a block to the school bus. She said her daughter, "like all youngsters, is difficult to get up in the morning and in the dark it's just that much harder." SEEMS LIKE NIGHT The children weren't very happy either "I don't like get- ting said one youngster m Philadelphia. "It seems like the middle of the night." In Canada, the Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver stock markets will open an hour earlier to coincide with the earlier market openings in the U.S. However, the foreign exchange market operated by Canadian banks will continue regular hours The Winnipeg Commodity Exchange and the gold futures market said they also will ad- vance their openings by one hour Air Canada and CP Air said they will not change departure times to link flights with those in the U S Instead, passengers leaving airports in areas switching to Daylight Time will find their flights leave an hour later than times printed on schedules.
