Retain ice to April 15 for pee wees TABER (HNS) - A recommendation from Taber's recreation board that ice be retained in the hockey arena to April 15 if necessary, to accommodate a 32-team pee-wee hockey tournament here, has been approved by the town council. The condition is that the full 32 teams anticipated for the meet be known by March 10. Plans for the tournament and financial arrangements were explained to council by Joe Orban, Jr., representing the minor hockey association. The tournament which will start Good Friday evening May 7, will draw teams from British Columbia, Edmonton, Calgary, Medicine Hat and Lethbridge as well as from the immediate district around Taber. Of special interest is the possibility that one team will come from Los Angeles, California, and that Red Story of NHL fame will be the referree in chief for the final games of the tourney, Mr. Orban told the council that other events are being solicited for the early days of April (ice is normally out at the end of March) including a Jaycees broomball tournament for April 4. Ice time will be available for other groups wishing skating parties on other days between April 1 and 7. Deaths Yesterday By THE CANADIAN PRESS Middleton-on-Sca, England- Capt.
