He expected prices to be down about 30 per cent over-all and said the remainder of the .drop in gross sales will come from an expected drop in quantity of fur auctioned. Many signs and wonders have followed this ministry when the gifts ol healing and word of knowl- edge are in operation COME AND EXPECT MIRACLES TO HAPPEN Presented by FULL GOSPEL BUSINESS MEN'S FELLOWSHIP INTERNATIONAL By MICHAEL ROGERS Herald Staff Writer Mickey Newbury I Came to Hear The Music. It's getting more and more difficult these days to label a musician's work as country, folk, rock. Mickey Newbury is one of those musicians. I Came To Hear The Music, his fourth album for Elektra, is a musical masterpiece a work of art. His tunes have the flavor of all those "labels" and blends them into something new. With this album, Newbury comes across as a warm, sen- sitive and serious artist. The title track, I Came To Hear The Music, opens side one and literally holds the listeners' attention throughout the remaining selections. Newbury's songs seem to constantly get better QUALITY DENTURE CLINIC EDDY DIETRICH Certified Denial Mechanic Capitol Furniture Bldg. PHONE: 328-7684 with every new album. This one is simply beautiful and a great addition to any collec- tion, whatever the listeners tastes are. (Elektra 7ES Ian Tyson 01' Eon. He's straight-forward. Canadian and country. 01' Eon's music doesn't jump out at you, it's there, and once you get into it, you can't turn it off. I guess one can easily call it country music, but really it is Ian Tyson music. But like Peter Goodard says it's not Nashville country, or slick TV country, but Tyson. 01' Eon is full of the kind of stuff Tyson has been writing for years. There is a definite feeling installed in every tune Blueberry Susan, Sam Bon- nifield's Saloon and Spanish Johnny. His feeling for Canada itself can be heard in The North Saskatchewan and Great Canadian Tour. There is something on this album for everybody. (A M Neil Merryweather Space Rangers. Special 6-month rate plan to April Many of ttie current rock- style musicians seem to have a problem with the over-use of special sound effects. But Neil Merryweather has no problem at all. Merryweather, a Canadian, seems to have mastered the use of sound effects, as can be heard in his unique version of Eight Miles High, originally done by The Byrds. His re-arrangement of Donovan's Sunshine Super- man, which opens side two, is even befter magnificent work on the synthesizer. The sound effects have the listener slip from track to track without any dead air. The music on this album is constant and powerful. Neil Merryweather is only beginn- ing to gain recognition and it is building. (Mercury SRM 1- Rod Stewart Smiler. Rod Stewart is back to his old form with Smiler. Ap- parently his live album was a bit of a disappointment. This one will be big. His style of rock is unique and as with his past albums, this one gives the listener the feeling there's a party going on. Somehow Stewart's powerful "gravel" voice, combined with the instrumen- tal arrangement in every number, just makes you feel good. He opens side one with Chuck Berry's great, Sweet Little Rock N' Roller, and finishes with Let Me Be Your Cui, accompanied by Elton John on piano and vocals. (Mercury Conductor The Toronto Symphony Orchestra has worked for almost two years under guest conductors, follow- ing the death of Karel Ancerl, former leader of the Czech Philharmonic.
