The poll, taken by ibe OBC Research Department and reflecting a sample of 1,000 Canadians, u years and older, from every province, also revealed the following figures. 06 per cent of those polled believe the rate of world population growth is too high, and 00 per cent feel world population should be kept at its present rate. 55 per cent believe Canada's population is high enough. 52 per cent think world governments should grant special privileges to those who voluntarily limit their families. On Monday, March 1 at 10 p.m., The Nature Of Things will present Tomorrow's Child, last program of the two part series *aminiiig proposed SOlu- tions to prevent the impending population crisis. Many biologists, sociologists and other experts advocate strong gov eminent measures to curb the threat of overpopulation, including the limitation of children to two per family. And what about penalties for those who continue to overpopu- late? The survey revealed that Canadians do not approve of such measures: 50 per cent of those polled rejected sterilization and 79 per cent did not agree with fines.
