Lethbridge Herald (Newspaper) - February 25, 1971, Lethbridge, Alberta Two-day seminar falls through EDMONTON (CP) - A two-day seminar to debate foreign ownership and control of Canadian industry - ironically entitled Silent Surrender - has been cancelled because of lack of Interest. The University of Alberta's extension department offered the course for $55, including texts and lunch, with lectures by Edmonton publisher Mel Hurtig and university profes- sors. But apparently the fee was too high, officials said, and the seminar, scheduled for Feb. 26-37, has been cancelled. DO OWN THING COALDALE (HNS) - "Community recreation means people involvement and doing your own thing! It is for everyone regardless of age, color, race, creed or economic ability," is the philosphy of community recreation which the southern regional recreation board and its recreation director, W. D. Geldert, believes in. RCMP inspector to Calgary OTTAWA (CP) - Superintendent Clifforu Stanley McAr-thur, head of the RCMP subdivision at Prince George, B.C. will be transferred to the Chil-liwack, B.C. subdivision, the RCMP announced here. Perry Barton has retired M sec-retary-treasurer of the Stirling Pasture Company, a position he held for 13 years.
