Wherever it is hidden or whatever it is called prostitution increasingly satisfies a social need yet its opponents are vehement in condemning The S Oldest Boldest Profession, the next intriguing subject for CTV's Maclear :S broadcasting March 6 on CTV. :g Correspondent Michael Maclear travels to Germany, Holland, the United States, Britain and Canada investigating the attitudes and arguments for legalizing and humanizing prostitution. In Germany sex has hit the stock market. A chain store brothel operation is now selling stocks and bonds for a minimum investment, Amsterdam alone is reputed to have prostitutes plying their trade in full view of the Law. In the United States the only legal prostitution is in Nevada, but only outside of the city limits. In Canada and in Great Britain the laws are simple and hyprocritical. Being a prosititute is not illegal. Being paid for it is. Featured in this show is: American author Allan Mankoff. He is considered the expert on the topic of prostitution and spent five years travelling Europe visiting 3500 clubs and brothels to compile a guidebook. Also included in this program is an interview with deputy police chief Reinhard Rupprecht of Munich, the first city in the industrial West to plan municipally owned brothels. Wild Country visits Land of the Big Ice With three spectacular trips behind them this season, John and Janet Foster journey to the Land of the Big Ice on CBC-TV's To The Wild Country, Sun- day. This final trip in the pop- ular series won a Canadian film award for its beautiful photography and produc- tion. Janet and John, the noted team of Canadian m naturalists and MlSS 1 C6H photographers, have travelled to many remote strewn with 20-ton boulders, as though scattered by some mythical giant. In remote coastal inlets, stone graves mark the camps of Thule Eskimos, who lived and died here hundreds of years ago. Host and hostess of this year's special are singer Bobby Curtola, and CFTO personality, Sue Lumsden, who will help to carry out the pageant's Minstrel Show theme. The 27 hopefuls, winners of local pageants, are between 14 and 18 years of age. Chosen on the basis of scholastic achievement and awareness, talent, poise and appearance, the young lady who holds the title of Miss Teen Canada will receive a scholarship, numerous prizes, and a summer tour across Canada.
