Cascade, Mont., on a recent student exchange. It was sponsored by the Warner and Cascade Lions clubs. On their return they brought Susan Smith and Kathy Stanley to spend a week here to go to school at Warner. Favor Saturday TABER (HNS) - A recommendation for at least one shopping night a week, especially during the period of Daylight Saving Time, has been made to the Taber Businessmen's Association by the. Taber Cranford Beet Growers' Association. They favor Saturday night shopping to accommodate migrant labor and the farming community generally. Win pay hikes CRANBROOK (Special)- H a v ing recently rescinded a previous bylaw holding city wage increases to a maximum of 6.5 per cent, city council has raised its stipends. Mayor Klinkhamer was on a California holiday at the time. His position will now pay $6,-000 annually, up from $4,-200, and all six aldermen will get $2,400 annually, up from $1,-500. Show slides CLARESHOLM (HNS) -Much appreciated were the color slides shown by members of the Chinook Camera Club entitled: "Come roving with us" in the Porcupine Hills and "Our sound of music." These were shown in the Maclean Hall in the Clares-holm Care Centre. Marks birthday NOBLEFORD (HNS) - A surprise party for Mrs. M. Butcher's 80th birthday was held at the home of Mrs.' Roy Krai recently. Eighteen women and six preschool children attended. An autographed tea cloth was presented to the honored guest. Jerry Potts show FORT MACLEOD (HNS)- The program filmed for This Land entitled Jerry Potts and the '74s is going to be shown on Channel 7 at 8 p.m. Feb. 21 and 23, tentatively. A part of the film, dealing with the beginning of the opening of the west, was shot in the museum compound. The horses used in it were brought in by Bert Heath. Mark your calendar, Feb. 21 and 28 at 8 p.m. 76 attend CLARESHOLM (Special) - Paul Dersch and Haven Hoge of the Granum district spoke at the recent meeting of the Willow Creek Historical Association here. Raymond Hart presided. Mrs. Hart is the secretary. A. P. Grant moved a vote of thanks to Dr. S. J. Cornish, past-president. Seventy-six people attended. Lonebutte history HANNA - Another of tile popular community history bocks is in process of being assembled for publication. It pertains to the Lonebutte and Bull Pound districts, south of Hanna, which have not been included in any other historical books.
