Last fall, members of the Amalgamated Conserva- tion Society, aided' by fisheries department biologists, stripped almost, eggs from coho salmon, fertilized them with sperm and placed them in incubation boxes. WJien the eggs hatch in the spring, the fry will be released into pools on the Goldstream and Sooke Rivers where they will be kept for one year, said Brian Inglis, president of the ACS. "We will feed the fry in these pools and when they have grown large enough they will migrate instinc- tively to the he said. That will happen in the spring of 1976 and it will be three or tour years after that, when the grown salmon begin migrating upstream, before the group will be able to measure the success of their program.
